History Club - Phi Alpha Theta

To provide history lovers of UMD with an opportunity to meet and participate in historical activities

Movie night: a professor shows a film and discusses if it is historically accurate. Many times professors will encourage their students to attend these if they are discussing the same subject; Field trips to the Glensheen, Bong Center, etc.; Help History Day: we help set up this and help judge when needed

• Getting to know professors outside of the classroom
• Learn how to organize activities
• Leadership skills & independence
• Getting to know other history majors, minors, and enthusiasts
• Learning about future careers available in history
